Ubi Franklin and his estranged wife Lilian Esoro were allegedly told by a High Court Judge they can’t divorce, yesterday during a court hearing on their divorce case.
According to a report by SDK, the Judge sitting at a high court in Ikeja, held that the couple’s reason for wanting divorce is not valid and said that since Lilian confirmed that Ubi provides for their child and both of them are very good friends, then there is no reason for divorce.
A source reveals that the couple were told to go settle their differences as their decision to separate sounds childish. The couple got married in November 2015 and the marriage folded in less than a year.
Social media reports had it then that the marriage crashed over infidelity allegation. It was however not stated which of the couple was guilty of that.
In 2018, Ubi gave an insinuation of why the marriage might have gone sour in a post he made on Instagram.
He had written:
“When we put up with each other without love, then the result is grudges, resentment, hate, and a general dislike for others. Putting up with each other in love looks different. Our failure to bear with one another in love is why all sorts of relationships fail. Friends, we need to admit something. People are going to irritate us. And I know it is hard for you to imagine but you irritate people sometimes too. We would like to think that everyone else is the problem. But we need to consider that the problem is you.
Can you imagine living with you? Can you imagine being around you with all of our quirks and idiosyncrasies? We must stop living with unreasonable expectations of others. We do not place these expectations on ourselves. We must stop living with unreasonable expectations of others. We do not place these expectations on ourselves. We are to bear with one another in love. We will not cease to love others because of their faults!”
The couple however have been in good terms as they have been spotted together on many occasions, especially when it has to do with their son.
